Just a cursory look at Harvey's work will tell you that he's an artist searching for aesthetic material with dramatic relationships. His work is realistic yet at the same time he achieves an overall tonal quality; a sense of air and light. Harvey executes his work deliberately, organizing to achieve an end. He believes things timidly done just come out looking timid.
Harvey enjoys teaching painting as an adjunct to his personal experience. He learns through interaction with others and the sharing of ideas. He feels it is an extension of the service aspect one feels compelled to give in the living of life, giving back what one has learned. He hopes to articulate something which may help others along in their pursuits.
